OUR MISSION
to provide the most relevant tactical and practical training in the nation to military and law enforcement agencies.
The act of effectively shooting rifles and pistols requires core skills that must be constantly refined, tuned, and measured.
Xray Alpha uses the paradigm of practical shooting to accurately measure performance under repeatable conditions. By doing this, our training fosters long-term skill development by assessing and improving shooting performance against a uniform baseline rather than trying to measure against the complexities of unique tactical problems.
However, for practice to truly matter, these skills must be readily applied to the complex tactical situations that arise in the real world. At Xray Alpha we consistently put our skills to the test in environments where the targets pop-up and shoot back. We bring that experience to each training event after reflecting and evolving our hard skills to be applicable with a relevancy measured in weeks, not years.
TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES
Law Enforcement
LEOs are faced with a wide variety of situations that require the use of complex skillsets. Within the highest levels of Special Operations Forces, Xray Alpha has operated and thrived in situations that involved the most restrictive rules of engagement in environments where innocent bystanders outnumber the threats 20 to 1. Discrimination, tactical patience, and highly accurate engagements are the difference between accomplishing what’s required or complete failure.
Military
Often referred to as the “Big Green Machine”, our military personnel are faced with situations requiring overwhelming force against an armed enemy with or without civilians present. Our instructors have significant experience in the aggressive tactics and free-thinking necessary to clear buildings of the enemy while maintaining accurate discrimination to protect innocent life. Xray Alpha accomplishes this by fine-tuning tried and true doctrinal concepts while consistently evolving to provide maximum survivability.
Defensive pistol
Xray Alpha has developed a wealth of knowledge and experience working in dangerous environments that required complete discretion in the “overt” display of weapons or U.S. affiliation.
Whether you are in a career that sends you to hot-spots around the world where you must discreetly carry, or you are a vigilant concealed carrier in civilian life, Xray Alpha provides practical training with personal knowledge in how those skills will apply to a self-defense pistol situation.
USPSA
Matt Pranka is a United States Practical Shooting Association Grand Master and is the primary instructor for Xray Alpha. With our “Training to Train Yourself” course styles, any shooter, including the sport shooter, can gain valuable shooting knowledge from a course with Xray Alpha.

HISTORY
Xray Alpha, LLC launched in January of 2019, but the founding members have been honing their skills over a lifetime of developing and applying the skills and mindset necessary to solve the nation’s most difficult tasks. These aren’t instructors relaying information they heard from someone else; they continue to live it. Training others that work in high threat environments is a passion Xray Alpha holds dear because we feel we should be giving back. But don’t think teaching has taken over; we strive to continue to get into the fight. When you are training with Xray Alpha you are dealing with an Instructor that measures relevancy in days and weeks, not based on a handful of stories from years ago and outdated methods.
It has been an extensive journey to get where we’ve come. Each of us have gone through our own trials and tribulations to set-in a mindset that always hungers for more. Mindset is a common topic in the tactical realm. You can be the best shooter and the most knowledgeable; if you don’t have the mindset to put those skills to use they aren’t skills and they aren’t useful. Each founding member of Xray Alpha has their own story that got them to where they are. There is one thing in common: Take the Fight to the Enemy.
